Yes, starting with V5R3 IBM allowed *SRVPGMs as StorProc targets.
That's pretty much all I use now, both for UDFs & Stored Procs, one service
program. I don't have a lot and I keep them simple so I don't have to worry
about breaking them up yet.
They're as fast as RLA, because they are RLA :)
