We use both the Create!Print 5.5 version and the Create!Form 2.7
version.
We also know about the limitation on V5R4. We are getting new machines
(i5's) and we are having them loaded with V5R3 so we can still run the
5.5 version. We use the 2.7 versions for faxing, emailing and
archiving.
It is a bit more work to use the 2.7 version, but it has so many more
benefits than the 5.5.
It does take some time to convert the Create!Print 5.5 Forms and Data
Maps to Create!Form 2.7, but once you do a few it is not so bad. We
probably have about 200+ forms here and have most of them converted, it
has taken about a year. But the pay off is the users loving being able
to email a form to themselves or to an outside customer or sales rep or
vendor. Our European offices email Invoices and Acknowledgements to one
person and the PDF name is the sales order number and customer name,
they save this off to their network drive and anyone over there can
easily find an order and resend it to anyone.
If you already have Create!Print, you should be able to get the
Create!Form, Create!Email and Create!Fax software free because you
already have the Create!Print product. You have to pay extra for the
Archive product.
You may have to increase your support monies for the year though. Anyway
I think it is worth the investment to keep Bottomlines product(s) and
use them.

Hi,
How many out there use(d) Create!Form?
Those that do would know that it has kind of dropped iSeries support and
new versions are all Windows based.
I want to know what you guys did. Did you stick with Create and migrate
all your forms. How did it go? Performance better or worse? Are you glad
you stuck with Create or do you wish you had used the opportunity to
move to another package and keep it iSeries native?
For those that didn't stick with Create, did you find a product that
could match the features of Create so you didn't lose anything in the
product change?
We are in a bind as to whether to stick with Create or to move on. We
aren't against Windows products, it is just that it is nice to have
everything in one place.
Create is a good product, but I will say the new designer interface
takes a lot of getting used to and the move away from iSeries has taken
some of the shine off the product.
So, I really just wanted some of your thoughts on this and see what path
some of you have taken.
