Last weekend we upgraded our IXA running server 2003. The changes were,
adding more memory, update to service pack 1, and promoting it to a domain
controller.

Since then, our backup (iSeries based) of that server, doesn't run
properly at its scheduled time. It gets some data but not all. I can run
the backup at any time during the day and get all the files not in use at
the time. Its scheduled normally at 02:30.

At its regularly scheduled time we get an error message: An error message
is in the job log. Communication error on session to Network Server. An
error code 3417 was received while trying to communicate on a session to
the Network Server. The IXA server is up and running during the backup.

I've run it in the late evening and have found that the comm error begins
somewhere around 11:00 - 11:30. There isn't anything running on the
server at that time to cause an issue, and we've changed nothing on the
iSeries.

Has anyone run into a similar situation?

Thanks in Advance,

Bob.
