I'm working on the same thing right now. Google encryption RPG Cozzi and
you'll find links to Bob Cozzi's articles on encryption. he provides
some sample code too. I think this project is snowballing, because it
has grown to handle key management, and logging who views/changes the
unencrypted data, and who sees the report that shows the data that was
changed.....

Hi,
I am investigating what is required to encrypt the numbers of credit
card fields in our databases on our 810 system. We are running under
R5V2.
There is no intention for the time being to upgrade. However, if a
better solution can be achieved in V5R3 or V5R4, we are open to
suggestions.
I read the white paper on "protecting i5/os data with encryption". I
got some idea about encryption but I am still confused about the issue.
Would we have to increase the size of the fields in our PF in order to
accommodate the encryption?
What method would be appropriate for our needs an RC4 or an AES
encryption and would they work on V5R2.
RC4 would make use of the QC3DTAEN & QC3DTADE service programs?
Do we need to buy additional software? Do we need to buy a 2058
Cryptographic Accelerator in order to store our keys.
All inputs are welcome.
