Sounds good Pat. I appreciate the opinion, I was looking for more tangible
arguments so I could form my own.

The gateway option previously mentioned also sounds intreging to an
extent, but I lothe adding "external" complexity/cost, and would rather
purchase "real" printers (for a low number of printers anyway, I'm sure
there would be a tipping point where I would opt for a gateway approach)

HPT will handle a lot of situations, but certainly not all.

IPDS still remains the gold standard for advanced printing.
