I put them into an image catalog (especially the cumes) for loading because
I then find out any CD readability issues up front. After I'm done loading,
I remove them to save disk space.

Believe it or not, I haven't done _any_ PTFs, including the cumes, from CDs
in at least 18 months. I do them all via SNDPTFORD command. Yes it works,
yes it's submitted to batch, yes they're downloaded via DSL. Nothing could
be easier.
