You're supposed to use routing for stuff like this. Though, it'd really only be an issue (in a client app, anyway) if you have multiple IP addresses that can be used with the same route.

Personally, I'm a programmer. If this were my problem, I'd scrap IBM's FTP client and write my own, and I'd just insert a call to the bind() API to bind it to the appropriate interface.

(Actually, I'd take FTPAPI and add an additional/optional parm that lets me specify the interface, then I'd include that in the next distro)

That's just me though -- I tend to use programming as a solution for my problems. You could certainly achieve this via routing if you prefer.
