Joe,

	See what Disk Controller you have in the 270.  If you have a 4748
Controller with 26MB of write cache, consider a 4778 which has 104MB of
cache.  We have done this very cheap upgrade for a few of our very small 270
class customers, and they were amazed at the results.

Oh, I know, Larry.  I'm just grousing, mostly because I figured that a 50%
increase in disk speed would certainly justify any pain and suffering I
would endure whilst dipping my toe into iFranken territory.  Ever since I
had to use an oscilloscope on an 8251 USART to debug a program, I have hated
hardware.

Ah well, I guess just knowing how to replace the drives is a plus.  Since
I'm actually going to buy out this machine, I ought to know how to keep it
running...

I still hate hardware, though.
