1 - How to check if your FSP is HMC managed or not.
Well, these instructions are for the V7 version of HMC. Don't know if you
can reverse engineer them down to V6 or earlier.
Click on Updates. Pick the server. View system information. For lic
repository, select None - Display Current Values. Way off on the right it
should say "Update Control". Below that mine says HMC. Don't know if
that column is a new V7 column.
2 - How to access the ASMI.

3 - How to change from OS managed to HMC managed.
I can't find instructions as to how to do this. I did find instructions
for the reverse. Perhaps you can determine how from these?

4 - How to access your HMC remotely.
If you are planning on getting to the V7 version of HMC code very shortly
do not bother trying to configure remote control to an earlier version. It
is totally different. Prior to V7 you had to download a special client to
the PC, and run through numerous configuration steps on the HMC. In V7
you do one configuration step to simply turn on enablement. Then you
simply point a supported browser to
https://yourHMC. (Providing your HMC
is in your DNS. If not, use the IP address.)
