Joe, I have a contact who could probably help you resolve this quickly.
IBM Brazil is where much of this "stuff" has been outsourced.

I'll be available via mobile phone this afternoon 205-746-6850.

3. Joe, I've had it on my list to get in touch with you on your
product.
Maybe once I fight whatever fires have started since Friday when I go
in tomorrow and u get your 270 (which is our production machine also)
running I can touch base with you.

The demo is up again, although the trials and tribulations I've had with
the IBM entitlement group mean it may get taken down. But for now you
can go onto the site and see the train demo. It gives you a good idea
of how you can take a 5250 application and without much work at all
transform it into a completely workable web application.

Joe,

Unfortunately you are on the right track by following up through the
folks that sold you SWMA. THEY will have to chase the chain of paperwork
until they find the broken link. Do not let them off the hook until you
get the keys and codes you need. They are supposed to make a buck or
three selling you that stuff because they have to support you when it's
not right. Currently it is not right.

Once the chain is fixed you'll get stuff fixed rather soon, often same
day even. Trust me, slamming your head into the entitlement folks over
and over only feels good when you stop, they do have the 'infinite hold'

button and I sometimes think they hold their finger close to it for just
such an occasion.

I would have thought the hard part was getting the system fixed, but
no, the hard part is getting that 12-digit "Unique Serial Number".
IBM entitlement says I'm not entitled, even though Software Delivery
and Fulfillment sent me my software (including 5733UX1, SW MAINT
1-YEAR RENEWABLE).

The entitlement guy said I have no software subscription, and that
"just because IBM sent the software to you doesn't mean you're
entitled to it."
Right about then I responded in a less than cordial way and he put me
on infinite hold.

After 15 minutes I started contacting other people and nobody can seem

to find the SWMA, so I have to go back to where I originally ordered
V5R4 for this machine (and authorized the $600 for my SWMA). But I'll

tell you what, the folks at entitlement (if the one I talked to is any

measure) are a surly, surly bunch.
