it is the marketplace. why spend $20K today for a quad core p5+
running at 2Ghz when any day now the new model will run at 4Ghz and
probably cost less?

the system p actually makes less now that the Intel servers are so
fast. as great as the low and mid range system p is compared to
comparable priced system i, system x or HP servers are likely just as
fast and lower priced.
