P01??? is that the 150 model? i had one of those years ago...for a 1
person machine it was okay...add users and it really sucked. just not
enough bang for the way too many bucks.

We've already had a desktop sized machine (P01). It didn't sell. Perhaps
with better pricing, the market would be better.
Well, yeah, that's the point. Not only better pricing, but about a
gazillion times more processing power.
System i's are alreadyData
being used in POS applications. Several vendors, including Responsive
Systems, have software for POS that bolts on to other back office
packages.
But I think a smaller form factor (what would in effect be a portable demo
model) might make it easier to sell to Mom and Pop shops or small chains.
