I saw something that called V6 feature code #0961. And something else
that calls V7 feature code #0962.

Re: Critical Console Data save
When buying a new HMC that will ship in the next few weeks (7310-CR4 I
think....), does anyone know for sure if it will ship with 6.1.2 or 7.3.1
installed?

Cool. I am glad that the save of critical console data is now reasonable.
Once you get everything verified (like is your level of FSP compatible
with V7 of HMC) I hope your V7 upgrade goes smoothly. And I hope you
appreciate the remote access.

Re: Critical Console Data save
Mine finally finished normally over the weekend. I ran the upgrade to
6.1.2 and then fixes to 6.1.2 just a short while ago. After the
upgrade/update, I ran another save CCD and it ran in minutes (with a very
small file produced). Now i'm verifying everything in order to move to
7.3.1.

Haven't seen that long in quite some time. I do always start it before
being away for a spell - like just before going home for the evening.

Critical Console Data save
Aarrgh.
Does anyone else have an issue with a long running save of their HMC's
Critical Console Data to DVD? I went thru this issue with IBM a while
back
and they determined that our 24hour plus save was 'normal'. It has
something to do with which updates were loaded and date stamps, etc.... I
forget the details.
I had hoped to get our HMC upgraded from 5.2.1 to 6.1.2 this week, but I
forgot how long the backup to DVD takes and am pretty much out of luck for
the upgrade this week now. Blah. It's written about 350mb to the DVD and
has been running around 27 hours at this point. Guess I should have sent
it to another box instead.
Just curious if anyone else runs into this?
