If it is on your AS400 (system i) defined by IP and you give it the same IP,
it most likely will work fine. If it is defined by name, you will need to
change the name on the AS400 to match the new name of the printer. Look at
the devd or outq descriptions to see how it is defined.
In addition, you may want to change the model type (IBM suggestion from the
ascii compatibility chart)

Subject: Adding printers to network
I have a question in regards to adding a new printer to the AS400.
If a user gets a new printer that is similar to their old one such as a
HP4200 replaced with a HP4350 dtn, what steps are required to add the new
computer to the network. Will the printer be recognized by the AS400 if
the system driver program is the same? Any advice would be greatly
appreciated?.
Thanks,
Joe
