And all these years I thought QDFRTVFD was "Retrieve Device File
Description"! I guess that was a poor assumption -- an inference, from
knowing the DF means "Device File" in [almost?] every other program
named with the QDF prefix.
A combination of the following appears to be what is available, there
may be more, to extract many of the details [not any string constants]
from a printer file:
    DSPFD TYPE(*ATR)
    DSPFD TYPE(*SPOOL)
DSPFD TYPE(*RCDFMT) or List Record Formats (QUSLRCD) API
DSPFFD or List Fields (QUSLFLD) API
Apparently there is a RPLPRTF TAA Tool; I did not search the web to
verify that naming or any specifics.
Regards, Chuck
