Not sure about join logicals, but SQL views (aka non-keyed LFs) over
multiple tables used to have the same restriction until V5R4. Then IBM
introduced INSTEAD OF trigger support. Basically, user can provide a
trigger that updates one or more of the tables defined in the view.

Subject: Has something changed, with respect to join logicals?

I'm getting this crazy rumor that there's now a way to write directly to
join logicals.

It is just a crazy rumor, isn't it?
