In whatever release (Version 4.sometime), IBM took away the ability to
execute the command CHGSYSVAL QSECURITY 10.  This caused some dissat with
level 10 users when they went from CISC to RISC.

And IBM is willing to make some changes.  Like, they no longer ship
systems at level 10 security.  I'm not going to try but I don't think you
can even drop back to that level.

There are mistakes, then there are stupid mistakes.  If the corporation
spends money to prevent stupid mistakes, it passes those costs on to us.
This amounts to a stupid tax on those of us who aren't stupid.

I don't like stupid taxes <grin>.

But I think it might make sense for a group of people like yourself to put
together what would amount to a "standard secure configuration" and submit
it to IBM.  I5/OS would have two basic options: secure out of the box and
not secure.  The secure out of the box would be the default, and it would
take a switch setting to set it to not secure (kind of like the way you
enable advanced functions on the control panel).
