You know, I run newer hardware and operating systems, but I've never had
to IPL to add harddrives to a parity set. And, I never select simply Add
to ASP. Further down that menu you'll see Add to ASP and Balance data.
Which is supposed to do a STRASPBAL.
Now, a week later or so, I may do a TRCASPBAL, followed by a STRASPBAL
based on usage instead. That can make a performance difference.
Then again, in the old days we would do a complete save and restore to
balance the data across all arms. But even that doesn't really base it on
usage. That's still pretty much capacity.
