No - I know I didn't misunderstand because I made a point of asking  
him afterwards if I had understood him correctly.  This was back in  
May of this year.

Once I get my current article out of the way I'll write him, remind  
him of the context, and ask him if things have changed with the new  
release or exactly what it was that he meant.
