Actually, I've done the following (not necessarily in this order):

1. I tried using an older version of both the program and the display file on the offending box. It failed in exactly the same way.

2. I copied the new (as of last month) version of both the program and the display file from the offending box (which is also the box on which they were compiled) onto the box where everything worked fine. Everything still worked fine.

3. I tried re-IPLing the offending box. No change.
