I know of a company in Cleveland that has been trying to make the jump for 5
years. The IT director is willing to spend $100K for a windows based server
just to do EDI, but he was not willing to upgrade the processor on his 810
to make his perfectly good EDI software run faster. He also let his SWMA
lapse, and now he's stuck at V5R2.

It's the 11th hour for 2007. Everybody will be calling to get companies
spend money this year so that the sales reps can make their numbers.

I think it's more the rash of posts and vendors calling on System i
customers saying "Sorry, we are moving to a Web/GUI based Windows based
platform".

I know of 5 companies in the Cincy area who are getting ready to make the
jump, $ be damned we want pretty!!!!!

All,

I have been receiving invitations to Webinars on "Webifying" your RPG apps
for a long time. Over the past few weeks, though, I have been inundated
with them from company after company after company, almost as if they're
in
a frenzy. Some companies I have heard of and others not.

Do you suppose there's something coming in V6R1 that we're not yet privy
to?

The opinions expressed are my own and not necessarily the opinion of my
company. Unless I say so.
