Bob

I think you are going the wrong direction - what you are doing will give an iSeries the ability to see files on the Windows machine. It sounds like you want a Windows box to see the install images for Client Access.

Those are always available - just turn on Netserver with STRTCPSVR *NETSVR or go into iSeries Navigator and rummage around to Network and Servers or some such.

Then from your PC, the install image is at \\your-iseries-ip-addr\qibm\proddata\access\install\images

if I remember rightly

I have been through the archives and found several hits, but no answer.

We want to mount an IFS directory over a Windows share.
The idea is to allow our technicians access to the Client Access install
images on our i520 without them having to login.

It seems to work, but we cannot see any files in the IFS from the PC?

Steps:
We installed UNIX services for Windows.
Created Windows share as4000client.

Ran the following mount command;
MOUNT TYPE(*NFS) MFS('techserver.gcbe.local:/as400client') MNTOVRDIR('/QIB
M/PRODDATA/Access/Windows/Install/Image')OPTIONS('ro,suid,retry=5,rsize=8096
,wsize=8096,timeo=20,retrans=5,acregmin=30,acregmax=60,acdirmin=30,acdirmax=
60,hard
')

Thanks, Bob Schwartz
