The installation can be limited to only iSeries Navigator and the data access components - ODBC driver, OLE/DB and .Net providers. The installation is quite simple using Windows networking - point Explorer to \\host-address-of-iSeries\qibm\proddata\access\windows\install\image\setup.exe and take the custom installation - uncheck everything you can!! Keep only the data access components that you want.

Absolutely no limits on licensing for this functionality.

Good luck showing all this - oh - you might want to also choose to install the User's Guide.

Chuck, et al,

I'm somewhat confused ... all I want to give the users of the ESRI GIS
applications is a configuration from their application to DB2/400, using ODBC or
CLI or whatever works best, not another emulator, nor data transfer capabilities
nor any of the other CA functions and features. I'm aware I can create an
install to limit what they can install and use but it doesn't provide enough
granularity on limiting features of the install. Besides, while we have an i5
CA license, I'm not sure if the license allows for massive installs.
Clarification and guidance please.

Thanks,

Dave
