No. I've got *HP4 on most of ours (and we have nearly 50). Then I have *IBM42011 on just a few. If it works, just leave it.

This is my RMTOUTQ set up -

CRTOUTQ OUTQ(RMTAS400Z) RMTSYS(*INTNETADR) RMTPRTQ(S22) AUTOSTRWTR(1)
CNNT
YPE(*IP) DESTTYPE(*OTHER) MFRTYPMDL(*HP5SI) INTNETADR('192.168.0.182')
TEX
T('Zebra printer')

Seems like there should be something different than the *HP5SI for a
Zebra?

List members,

Thank you for giving me the confidence to go back and make this work. I
had configured the JetDirect with an IP address already in use on the
LAN. How many of these issues are simply oversights and we just need to
know that someone has been there and done that b/4 us.

Thanks,
Don

Don,
I've done this before (external JetDirect print server for a Zebra
printer) but don't have it connected anymore to give you the OUTQD. As
I recall it wasn't any different than configuring a Zebra Ethernet print
server. Keeping working on it, as it's doable.

It always worked before - with HP printers on it - 3 at a time a while
back, then we took it out of service. I've got connectivity to it (its
web interface) from my browser.

What happens if you attach a different printer to the box?

I can't get the config to print.

Damn - I just called Zebra and after all the "registration" questions,
they said I had to call "HP".

Can you get a configuration page to print when you push the button on
the JetDirect box?

I haven't tried that particular setup, but is the JetDirect firmware
compatible with the Zebra printer? Your best bet is probably to call
Zebra.
They have been very helpful every time I've called them.

I have an HP Laserjet running as a RMTOUTQ. It has an Ethernet
connection via an HP JetDirect print server, and there is a parallel
cable connection from the print server to the printer.

I am trying to set up the exact same configuration with another HP Print
Server, only this time there is a Zebra 105SL attached to the 2nd print
server via the parallel cable.

However, I cannot get anything at all to print on the Zebra (from a PC
application), so I am wondering if this hardware is incompatible.

TIA,
Don
