Is the difference here between different configs whether you have the "Zebra Print Server" plus a Zebra printer, or only the printer?

That's not true.

Which part? If the latter, it'd be my fault - but if the first part,
where do you find PCL capable Zebra printers?

You are using HPT when you specify TRANSFORM(*YES).

HPT in this instance is providing only *SCS to ASCII conversion.

PCL doesn't come into play unless you have using a *DEVD with SYSDRVPGM(*HPPJLDRV). Even then, I
think it only really matters in a *AFPDS to ASCII conversion.

OP was using *HP5SI though, which is PCL.
