Many will recommend looking at CGIDEV2 - it is a service program that lets you build web pages from RPG very nicely - available as a free zip file at

http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/services/labservices/library.html

It uses web pages external to the RPG program that are specially marked up - Paul Tuohy had a series of articles on it - found this first of 3 at

http://search400.techtarget.com/tip/0,289483,sid3_gci1065711,00.html

Might have to get a free subscription

Also, do a google search on "cgidev2 examples"

Then you could go to

http://www.renaissanceframework.com/

which is a framework using CGIDEV2 for developing websites that run in RPG on the iSeries - pretty impressive stuff.

I'd like to create a fairly simple sales application that displays sales
information on a web page. All of the data is resident on an iSeries. There
seem to be so many ways of doing it, well, it boggles the mind. Where is a
good place to start? Keep in mind that I am a long time RPG coder, I don't
know C/C++, Java, and so on. I can hold my own in VB.net. It's been years
since I've created any webpages or worked with the HTML servers on the
iSeries. Point me to a good book or example or website or ? and I'll be good
to go.

Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
