I don't think there is a single "right" answer. It depends on situation,
performance requirements, severity of the potential "issue" etc.

I agree. Just as there is no "right" answer regarding QTEMP in the library
list, or using unqualified references to QTEMP objects. It's the system
architect's purview to make that decision based on the situation.
