Heh. When I saw the word Boneyard, I thought "This fellow works for either a
construction company or a trucking related company."
Then I looked at your signature. :-))
I will remember this for the few clients I have who haven't bought SEQUEL.

"I am working on a project where we will be sending data to a banking
institution (which shall remain unnamed). The bank's systems apparently
require that the first record in the file they receive must contain column
headings!
Anybody know of a way to accomplish this without having to do RPG
programming? The client wants to avoid using programs wherever possible."
I do this a lot, you have to create a text file with the headings in it
with a text editor, and copy the file over. Here's the CL to do it.
************Beginning of data**************
BONEYARD,Units currently in the Boneyard
Item#,Item Description,Qty
************End of Data********************
This is a very basic example, and provides a two line header for a
spreadsheet with 3 columns. Use the EDTF command to create the heading
file.
