Willie,
I agree with Rob's recommendations. I don't print my logs either, just
keep the QHST* files forever and move them to a library for saving to
tape. You always have the option of restoring QHST* files to QSYS and
can print logs for any date/time period you want.
So, if I do a
DSPLOG PERIOD((0100 010108) (0115 010108)) OUTPUT(*PRINT) I'll see
entries from it.
Now, if I delete that file and do the
DSPLOG PERIOD((0100 010108) (0115 010108)) OUTPUT(*PRINT) the printout
simply says "(No messages >available)"
