For me, IBM Midrange has meant CPF (i5/OS) for many years. I don't think that the actual hardware is all that much different from other server-class hardware anymore anyway. If they can make i5/OS run on commodity-grade server hardware I'd be just as happy.

I think the V6 announcements are showing us an IBM in transition from an 'all in one' provider to a 'mix and match' provider.
