We NAT it & route it. Source & Target never change IP addresses but if
we do a switch, the network equipment is updated to point the Source's
IP address to an IP address on the Target. For this to work the Source
& Target systems will need multiple IP addresses and possibly multiple
NICs depending on your network setup.

The Source & Target are in different data centers on entirely different
subnets.
