The journal receiver entries, type UB and UP in case of an update,
contain the entire record image for before and after the update.

This probably isn't the news you where hoping for but this is what I've
seen written to the journals.

Subject: Journalling minimization

Why do I see all fields in the file in the journal receiver when I do
the following? Shouldn't I only see the changed field?

CRTJRNRCV JRNRCV(DELETEME/QSQJRN0001)

CRTJRN JRN(DELETEME/QSQJRN)
JRNRCV(DELETEME/QSQJRN0001)
RCVSIZOPT(*MINFIXLEN *RMVINTENT)
MINENTDTA(*FILE)

CREATE TABLE DELETEME/DROPFILE (ORDERNO INT NOT NULL WITH DEFAULT as
identity, ITEMNBR CHAR ( 5) NOT NULL WITH DEFAULT, ITEMDESC CHAR ( 10)
NOT NULL WITH DEFAULT, QUANTITY DEC ( 9, 2) NOT NULL WITH DEFAULT,
PRIMARY KEY (ORDERNO))

insert into DELETEME/dropfile (itemnbr,itemdesc,quantity)
values('A','BROGHER',5.2)

update deleteme/dropfile set itemdesc='BROTHER' where orderno=1

I thought I should only see the contents of itemdesc, and maybe even
just the contents of the G changing to a T.
