Acronyms aplenty here...
Starting to use SQL DDL to define tables and such instead of DDS. When I
created the table, I speced out the 'Create Table' and used our CMS (Change
Management System) Softlandings' TurnOver to create/promote the table into
production. This works great. I now need to add a column to the table. I
can check out the original DDL source, make change, and re-promote it. I
could also just open up Navigator and add the column. I could just do a
Alter Table in a SQL window. I am just not sure what the best method is to
do this change and keep the change management gods happy.
How are people using CMS to handle the DDL? What are the best practices
for utilizing SQL DDL?
