Our network people are getting a quote on putting the server room on one UPS which will feed the entire circuit going into the server room. This includes our IBM 520 which is currently connected to a Powerware 5125 UPS still under warranty. The room will not have a generator. From the iSeries side of things, I don't see any advantage to going to a UPS that will protect 20 other servers.

What precautions do the network guys need to take with respect to the IBM 520? That is, are there any unique UPS requirements for a 520 server versus, let's say a Dell server?

Thanks in advance.
