Well, hello Trevor...We had thought with all the silence you had gone on a
much deserved holiday... :)

Yes, I know about the town hall meeting...

What I'm curious of is if there'll be more substance than I heard on Handy's
call back in January which went into all the new Power naming schemas and
virtualization and how virtualization was becoming more of a focus...all
running on hardware that coincidently started with a "p" in it's name, btw.
He did a lot on the blade stuff as well.... and, oh, by the way, it was nice
of him to allocate 10 seconds to acknowledge that there was an iSeries
release... :)

I may be wrong, and frankly I've not had the time or interest to really
pursue it before Nashville, but as I understand it from this call, the
hardware naming concepts of I & p as we've known them basically go away and
we're now all dealing with some hardware schema named "Power..."...the box
models I've seen so far all start with a "p"...kinda like they do for all
the AIX/L stuff now...and multiple virtualities co-resident and on demand
with in a session/LPAR are the direction du jour...

I'm sure I'm missing a lot and yeah, I'm planning on being at that meeting
if I'm not broke by Wednesday... :)

Don,

The rumor is that COMMON will have a town hall meeting titled "The New Power
Equation".

Without being a smartarse, if you want to know more than that, attend the
session. Until then, rumor, conjecture and speculation will simply add FUD -
see Mike's earlier comment.

If you read any of the other recent Mark Shearer interviews, you should be
VERY excited.
