Rob,
With all due respect, the standard implementation of QTIMZON is to jump
back by an hour. This screws up a lot of stuff. At the same time that
QTIMZON was developed, the notion of a gradual time adjustment was also
developed, but they are distinct.

I suggest you read the Info Center on how "fall backward" is handled.
Perhaps that will address your concerns. I think that what they do is
make time crawl to a standstill to avoid duplicate time stamps in
historical records. Now, if you run that batch job that dumps a million
records and uses timestamp as a primary key during that time you may hit a
duplicate. Falls into that, when is a millisecond not a millisecond,
category.

QTIMZON system value needed to automatically change time (for Daylight
Saving Time)
Our System I did not automatically "spring forward" one hour on Sunday
March 9.
Josh Golden from the System i Work Management support team explained
that my System value QTIMZON QN0500UTCS prevented this.
We are in Oklahoma, U.S.A., central time zone.
We currently have QTIMZON set to -05:00 > QN0500UTCS UTC-05:00S
UTC-05:00 Standard Time <-wrong for our time zone
Josh explained that that our System i will "fall backward' one hour
automatically in November though, if QTIZZON were set to:
I do not feel comfortable with the automatic "fall backward".
