So you are expecting IBM to be insightful and introspective. Hmmm.
Well, I don't believe I've ever heard IBM say they thought any part of
Microsoft's business model or strategy was worth their while.

For IBM to eliminate PDM is akin to Microsoft eliminating Notepad

Yes and no. OK, so they won't "eliminate" it. But MS doesn't charge
extra for notepad, but IBM will charge extra for PDM under the new
model.
