Well, I don't believe I've ever heard IBM say they thought any part of
Microsoft's business model or strategy was worth their while.

Yes and no. OK, so they won't "eliminate" it. But MS doesn't charge
extra for notepad, but IBM will charge extra for PDM under the new
model.
