Subject: Re: Free of RPG/400
Also, I beleive CA AllFusion Advantage 2E (aka. Synon) has supported ILE
RPG-IV (and ILE COBOL) for quite a few years now, so I would also ask
the vendor why they continue to generate the now obsolete RPG/400 ...
the OPM RPG/400 compiler had no new features added since V2R3 (it has
been "bug fix" only since the introduction of RPG IV with V3R1/V3R6).
How many other vendors are still shipping RPG/400 source? This is one
of the major things that is "hurting" the image of the platform and
keeping people from moving forward, IMO.

Mark, that's a great idea if CVTRPGSRC comes with the ILE compilers. I--
haven't used it much so forgot about it. The biggest issue is source
comparison. If we converted the original source first and saved it as
"original", then we could more easily find any changes.
