Is there a service that needs to run to write data to the IFS, but not to read
that data? We had this issue before, or possibly read and write to IFS did not
work. Been too long ago.

With Public having all permissions to the folder, I do not understand why only
the filename is written and not the data as well.

I am looking, now, at the properties of my IFS folder. Some time ago, I
apparently tried to fix this using the wrong approach. Didn't work, though.

The folder name and my user profile are not the same. When I start my
computer,
I am asked for my appropriate Series i user profile.

Right now, that profile (and Public) have all rights to the directory.
At least
all the boxes, except for exclude, are checked.

When I tried to save a spreadsheet to my IFS folder yesterday, the name was
written to the folder, but no data. Seems like something else is possibly
going on. Why would the directory name be written, but no data?

Where do I look now?

Thanks!

Is there someplace else I need to look for permissions? Maybe Navigator?

You can set the Netserver shary globally to "Read/Only", which could
lead to the effect you described.

You can check this using System i Navigator by checking the properties
of the share.
