I am attempting to install Linux in an LPAR on a 520. I think I have
the configuration OK but when I vary on the NWSD to start the
installation I get a "Failed to Boot" message in the LPAR console telnet
session although the VRYCFG command returns "Vary on completed for
network server LINUX1" so it looks like the hardware configuration is
OK. I think the "failed to boot" because I don't have the correct path
to the installation program defined in the NWSD.
The final few lines in the telnet session look like:
IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM IBM
1 = SMS Menu 5 = Default Boot List
8 = Open Firmware Prompt 6 = Stored Boot List
Memory Keyboard Network SCSI Speaker /
Failed to boot

My (dated) instructions have the path as '/QOPT/SU90SP1.P01/INSTALL'
That file doesn't exist on the DVD. I have a ISERIES64 file but I think
that guy is only for iSeries machines, not System i's. I set the path
to '/QOPT/SU1030.001/suseboot/inst64' but I get the "Failed to Boot"
error. Can't seem to find a file called "install" on this DVD. It IS
the SUSE PPC64 distro though.
Suggestions?
