Dave,
The only external indicators I know of are *INU1 through *INU8. Are
these what you are talking about? If so, you can use:

DCL VAR(&SWITCH) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(8)

RTVJOBA SWS(&SWITCH)

For each external indicator that is on, there will be a corresponding
'1' in the variable &SWITCH. So, if &SWITCH = '10101000' then external
indicators *INU1, *INU3, and *INU5 are on.

Is it possible to read external indicators in a CL Program?
I want to be
able to debug a RUNJVA command. So I want to have two
commands based on the
external indicator being there or not. If I turn it on, I
will get the
*DEBUG and *VERBOSE options. If not, then it doesn't "talk" to me...

Is there a better way?

Dave
