I have the need to call a sql server stored procedure which returns a 
'next-number' value that I need to use in a System I program.  I'm not
sure 
which language I'll be using, so I'm posting here until David redirects
me 
to another list.

I'm guessing I'll need to write a Java program that uses JDBC...
