We had a very aggressive one a year or two ago that finally drifted off
when he realized we work mainly through our BP (and weren't interested in a
few high dollar propositions).

IBM has used the BP model for so long that the absence of IBM Sales
personnel at the vast majority of accounts is not any valid indicator of
the platform's health. That's a lame point to be making. You won't find
many Microsoft sales execs out in the wild either... in fact i've never
even HEARD of one.

I contract at a place that's big enough to have an IBMer be involved,
but the actual sales are through a BP. So yeah, I see IBM sales folks
on a regular basis, but most smaller shops wouldn't I'll bet.

Have you seen an actual IBM salesman in the wild? I haven't, not in a
good many years.
