Hi Doug,

Is there a way to define a column (field) with something like the
TEXT('blah blah') that we use in a DDS?

The following is from an SQL script of mine that creates a PF (err... table) named 'RECALL'. After running the Create Table statement, it runs the following to set the TEXT for the columns:

Label on Column RECALL (
CUSTOMER_NUMBER text is 'Customer Number' ,
CUSTOMER_NAME text is 'Customer Name' ,
STREET_ADDRESS text is 'Street Address' ,
CITY text is 'City' ,
STATE text is 'State or Territory' ,
POSTAL_CODE text is 'Postal' ,
CONTACT text is 'Contact Name' ,
CONTACT_TITLE text is 'Title of Contact' ,
PHONE_NUMBER text is 'Telephone Number' ,
FAX_NUMBER text is 'Fax Number' ,
EMAIL_ADDRESS text is 'E-mail Address' ,
BROKER_NAME text is 'Broker Name (or NULL)' ,
SALES_REP text is 'Sales Rep (Klement Sausage Employee)'
);

Good luck
