I have used it since '98. It's now known as CA Plex, and was originally
Synon's Obsydian product (the Object Oriented version of Synon/2E). It's an
extremely powerful, pattern based Architected RAD tool.

Generates RPG/400, RPGIV, SQL Server, ODBC, JDBC server code. Generates
WinC, 5250, Java, Web clients in pretty much any combination (obviously 5250
is pretty much tied into RPG code on an i) and can be partitioned (MVC)
however you want.
To me it sounds like what EGL is trying to achieve, only it's been around
for 14 years, and has an extremely mature development environment...
