THIS is one of the MANY reasons I REALLY HATE TIERED PRICING!!!
You can thank IBM for this...

Subject: RE: Innovis EDI software
Actually, yes, we had the same issue when we upgraded from a 170 to our
current 520 a couple of years ago. I argued with them enough to get
them to put off the increase in the license fee for 1 year, but was not
able to get them to waive it. Albeit our fee was not nearly as much as
yours; more like $1400 or so.
I point-blank asked them to explain to me what I was getting for the
extra $$, and they said I was getting a faster machine. Noooooo, I got
that from IBM and have already paid IBM for it... Inovis didn't do
anything, why should I pay you? Talk about deaf ears...
I strongly considered moving away from Inovis because of this, but
decided in our case, it would have been more expensive to make the
switch (new software, training, setup, etc), than to just pay the fee.
But I totally understand - it's a matter of principal! I feel your
pain!
If I'm ever in the situation again to choose an EDI provider, Inovis
will be on the BOTTOM of the list because of this fiasco.

Subject: Innovis EDI software
We have an account going from a 270 which is a P05 tier group to a 515
which
is also a P05 tier. They use Innovis for their EDI, and they wish to
charge
the customer $11,000 for keys. No new functionality, customer is
already on
maintenance, customer will not have any more EDI transactions, customer
will
get nothing from this at all. Every other vendor that we had on the 270
had
no charge, or a small paperwork charge (which is fine).
Has anyone else had this nightmare dealing with Innovis? Any other EDI
software providers that you prefer.
Thanks
