When I have wanted to do this, I had the advantage of the job date being
stored in a one record control file (with other control values) and could do
a subselect from that record to get the date. Since it was a single record
file, I always got the job date I needed. Something like this;
INSERT INTO Lib_Name/File_Name (NBR, NAME, Added_Date)
VALUES(20, 'Bill', (Select job_date from control_file))

I want to populate a date column in a table with the JOB DATE (not SYSTEM
DATE). This is because we run for prior days on the current day. I could
do this by using a variable in RPG on my INSERT stmt but would like to
avoid RPG and possibly do it using RUNSQLSTM. CURRENT DATE gives me the
system date. How could I get the JOB date to use in my INSERT stmt.
Thanks.
