By having robust error handling in the program.`

For example the FATALERROR program outlined in the RPG Exception and Error Handling redpaper,

Captures the error message and the screen, when called from a *PSSR that does a dump, you should have
all you need.  Without the user or an operator having to do anything.  In an idea scenario, you could
automatically email the details into a request tracking system.
