No. The iPhone can use WLAN to connect directly to your corporate
wireless 802.11blah network. Or you can use UMTS and connect to the
internet, then use VPN to connect to your corporate network. Either

"The Web" is essentially a protocol stack consisting of HTTP, HTML,
JavaScript, and a bunch of other stuff - a 5250 connection does not
have anything to do with that protocol stack.
