Here is a REXX procedure I've made to execute an SQL statement passed to it. I want to use it as opposed to RUNSQLSTM so that I can prepare my SQL statements in a CLP.

PARSE ARG wSql

RC=0

ADDRESS EXECSQL,

EXECSQL,

wSql,

" WITH NC"

IF RC <> 0 THEN DO

MSGID = "SQL"RIGHT(STRIP(ABS(SQLCODE)),4,'0')

'SNDPGMMSG MSGID(&MSGID) MSGF(QSQLMSG) MSGDTA(&SQLERRMC) MSGTYPE(*ESCAPE)'

END

Being new to REXX, I'd appreciate it if anyone could point out any limitations or ameliorations to this code. For example, I can't get it to do a CREATE TABLE AS ... because of WITH DATA followed by WITH NC.
